Government Announce Clean Growth Strategy

On October 12th, the government announced their Clean Growth Strategy, through which they hope to cut emissions and create jobs whilst at the same time keeping costs down and growing the economy.

Through the Clean Growth Strategy the Government hopes to make a real impact to the general public by; reducing energy bills, improving air quality, supporting new technologies and boosting the earning power for people in high quality jobs.

The strategy includes a view to make the largest increase to public spending on UK science, research and innovation in almost 40 years.

Our Response

Our response to the strategy mirrors that of The National Insultation Association of whom we are proud members. Like The NIA we welcome the strategy and particularly the areas focusing on energy efficiency which include:

A comprehensive package to improve the energy efficiency of businesses.

Making it easier for householders to make energy efficiency home improvements.

Extending the Energy Company Obligation until 2028.

All fuel poor homes to be upgraded to EPC Band C by 2030 and as many homes as possible by 2035.

Support for improvements in private rented properties to tackle fuel poverty.

The NIA also state in response:

Investment in energy efficiency including insulation is a win win providing economic growth, reducing carbon emissions, tackling fuel poverty, reducing energy bills and creating jobs.

Our commitment

Isothane are committed to help improve energy efficiency through our products which include our injected polyurethane foam Technitherm and our spray foam product Duratherm, both of which are perfect for retrofit and new build projects.

Not only that but we are members of several task groups and organisations including The NEA who work tirelessly to end fuel poverty and improve energy efficiency for those most in need up and down the country.
