Cavity Wall Insulation

Written By Dan Volpicelli

The need for sufficient cavity wall insulation

Approximately one third of all heat escapes though the wall of uninsulated houses. Heat will always flow from a warm area to a cold one. In winter heat escapes quicker through the walls heating the cold air outside. A properly fitted cavity wall insulation will keep heat inside a property keeping it warmer and saving money on energy bills.

Traditional cavity wall insulation however doesn’t offer any protection against floods or in assisting in structural stability. At Isothane we have the product that can offer all three of these properties as well as many more.

what is different about our Cavity wall insulation product?

We manufacture a cavity wall insulation called Technitherm® which is a KIWA approved polyurethane foam. Technitherm® can provide insulation to both retrofit and new build properties. The product is a closed cell foam which is applied by our fully trained and accredited contractors.

Technitherm® is normally installed externally in most properties by injecting a liquid into the wall though a number of holes, spaced in a predetermined pattern. The product then quickly expands and hardens to for a rigid foam mass. Once injected into the cavity Technitherm® quickly improves the energy efficiency of the building as well as boosting a properties flood resilience.

the benefits of using isothane’s cavity wall insulation

  • Improves the energy efficiency of a property which means lower heating and energy bills.
  • Provides flood resilience protection as well as protecting against wind driven rain.
  • Suitable for most hard to treat properties with cavity walls and properties with cavities less then 50mm.
  • Non-absorbent so will not cause damp.
  • Installed externally so minimal disruption caused.
