Isothane Limited market leaders for over 25 years in providing innovative solutions for Hard-To-Treat/Non-Standard Cavity Wall Insulation are the proud winners of the Builder & Engineer's prestigious Supplier of the Year Award 2012.

Isothane Limited manufacturer of Technitherm® polyurethane all-in-one energy efficient cavity wall insulation solution was the judges’ choice for its collaborative works with Blackburn & Darwen Borough Council on their Warmer Insulated Secure Homes (WISH) project.

The award was presented to Isothane’s Head of Energy Efficiency Solutions, Mervyn Kirk, accompanied by Stuart Pye and Nicole Cook of Blackburn with Darwen.

Technitherm® is for use as wall-tie replacement structural stabilisation, protection from severe wind driven rain exposure and flood resilience, and provides high thermal insulation for hard-to-treat(HTT)/non-standard random stone and coursed stone, variable width and sub 50mm wide cavity wall properties.

Houses with HTT cavities span across all sectors but this project focused initially on the “Super Priority Group”.

Blackburn with Darwen Stuart Pye, commented: “Isothane had recognised the benefit to residents of their product and from a corporate social responsibility aspect and were willing to make an investment in time, resources and manpower and work alongside the council to develop its use for a wider benefit, particularly to assist Local Authorities in prioritising work in the fuel poverty sector. The company were willing to work alongside the Local Authorities in the region to assist in developing schemes that addressed the Councils priorities including Environmental (to reduce greenhouse gas emissions), Social (to reduce the impact of fuel poverty on households including the level of deaths and morbidity due to vulnerable people living in cold, damp and unhealthy housing, especially in the winter months) and Economic.”

On winning the award, Isothane’s Head of Energy Efficiency Solutions, Mervyn Kirk, commented: “It is a fantastic achievement to have picked up this award in a category where there was fierce competition. Isothane Limited pride ourselves on building strong, proactive working relationships with all of our customers, ensuring the right support is given at every level at both a central and local level and throughout the project delivery”.

“We are extremely proud to have been recognised with this award not only by Blackburn with Darwen but also by our industry peers and look forward to continuing to work in a mutually successful partnership with all our customers for many years to come.”
