The Problem

The existing silicone system on a 6000mē roof had started to leak owing to general degradation and specific problems with bird attack.

The Solution

With proper preparation and priming, ISOTHANE EMA was proven to adhere well to the existing silicone layer. Local repairs were carried out and ISOTHANE EMA applied at a rate of 1 litre per square metre with reinforcement to upstands only. To provide additional protection the coating was blinded with slate granules while partially cured.

• No problems reported nearly five years on
