| The Problem: |
The old slate roof over the hospital wards was suffering from nail fatigue and was beginning to require regular costly maintenance.
Loose powdery torchings on the back of the slates were constantly falling onto the ceilings of the wards creating dusty, unhygienic conditions and compacting the loft insulation.
|
| The Outcome: |
The foam sealed roof created a dust free, hygienic environment. Maintenance costs were drastically reduced. Insulation was increased to Building Regulation standards,
reducing energy costs and greenhouse gas emissions. All the old slates were permanently locked into position, resisting the strongest gale force winds. |
