| The Client: |
Well-known breakfast cereal producer.
Contractor: Corroless Eastern. |
| |
|
| The Problem: |
During its annual clean and inspection, a silo
was found to have degraded in that there was discovered
to be a pitted surface, and potential signs of past
water ingress. Either replacement of the silo or
application of a lining as a reinforcement to the
aged substrate was required. |
| |
|
| The Solution: |
Armour - Flex PW was sprayed ( after an epoxy
fillet was applied to any ledges ) to strengthen
the silo and prevent water ingress. This fast set
polyurea is very abrasion resistant, strong and
flexible, and it is approved for food contact under
standard EN1186-3 2002. It sets in seconds and can
be put back in service an hour after application. |
| |
|
| The Outcome: |
- Back in service in hours, not days or weeks
- Cheaper than patching and relining with expensive
stainless steel, or replacing the silo
- An instant, cost effective and hygienic solution
