Armour - Lyte

The Client: Anglian Water, Little Bealings
site. The Problem: The old
polymer bitumen lining on a sewage processing tank had
badly deteriorated and disbonded, causing the tank to
leak
dramatically and to disrupt normal treatment. A highly
chemically
resistant lining was needed to withstand the acidic effluent
in the
long term. The Solution: Armour
- Lyte polyurea elastomer, spray applied on a
fixed mesh
base to form a ‘tank within a tank’. The spraying part
of the
remedial works took only a day, after the substantial
prep had been
completed. This saved Anglian Water thousands of pounds
in
servicing a temporary tank that had been installed at
the site whilst
the work was complete, and avoided the destruction of
valuable
bacteria at work in the process. Application thickness
was 4mm
covering 100m². The Outcome:
- Next day back in service
- Unit working immediately, rather than a weeklong
downtime with typical alternative systems.
